What happend during the mission?

1st Neurological Mission to the Galapagos Islands, Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador. We were able to see over 250 patients and donated an EEG machine with the support of our friend from Tele EEG. We completed over 50 EEGs and we were able to train local doctors in the setup and interpretation of EEGs. In Santa Cruz, there are no neurologists and no CT scans, the patients in need of neurological care need to travel to the continent (Quito or Guayaquil) which is 1000 km away and it’s very costly and impossible for most of the locals. With the help of our volunteers, we were able to see over 300 patients and perform over 50 EEGs. We would like to thank the hospital Jose Maria Velasco Ibarra for the continuous support and to all the local people that made this mission possible.
